How does a telehealth appointment work?

Once your appointment is booked, you will receive a confirmation email with an appointment link. That link can be accessed on your phone, tablet or laptop. If you dont have a video enabled device or the internet signal isnt strong enough for a video call, we can switch the appointment to phone only.

How long will be my appointment be?

Initial appointments are scheduled for 60 minutes, and review appointments are 30 minutes.

Is a telehealth appointment secure?

Absolutely! We use our clinical management platform to host these calls, and they ensure the highest of security and privacy standards are always applied. This includesAll infrastructure is hosted in AustraliaThe calls are encrypted using 2048-bit SSL in transit, and using AES-256 encryption at rest and in backups.All regulations of the Australian Privacy Principles, GDPR, PIPEDA and HIPAA are met or exceeed.

What happens if I want to cancel or reschedule my telehealth appointment?

You can reschedule or cancel your appointment up until 1 business day before the appointment for a full refund.  Please see our Cancellation policy for further details.

Can I consult in another language?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our team can consult in Spanish, Persian (Farsi), Turkish, Telugu and Hindi, in addition to English. Please mention your language preference when booking.

How can I pay for my telehealth appointment?

After your booking, you will receive an payment request which must be completed prior to your appointment.
Payment can be made via bank transfer or credit/debit card.

How much does a consultation cost?

Our current fee schedule is listed on our Fees & Policies page. Telehealth appointments are payable at the time of booking, in-centre appointments are paid at the time of your appointment, and in-home visits are invoiced (a provider agreement must be in place prior to the first in-home appointment). Depending on your situation, you may be able to reduce this cost through Medicare, DVA, NDIS or private health insurance. Pensioner and children's discounts are also available.

Can I claim a Medicare rebate?

If your GP has prepared a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan and referred you to us, Medicare provides a rebate of $63.40 per visit for up to five allied health visits per calendar year (this five-visit allowance is shared across all allied health providers you see, not five with us alone). Eating Disorder Care Plan holders are entitled to 20 subsidised appointments per year. You pay the full fee on the day and Medicare refunds the rebate to your nominated bank account.

Do you accept DVA (veterans') cards?

Yes — with a valid referral (D904) from your GP, eligible DVA Gold and White card holders can be seen at no out-of-pocket cost. We see DVA patients in centre, in-home, or via telehealth.

Can I claim through private health insurance?

Accepted Answer

If you hold "extras" cover that includes dietetics, you can usually claim a portion of the fee. The rebate amount depends on your fund and level of cover. Note that you can't claim from both Medicare and private health for the same appointment.

Do you work with NDIS participants?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We partner with more than 20 NDIS care managers and are happy to work with others — please get in contact to discuss. We support self-managed and plan-managed participants where dietetics is included in your plan (for example under Improved Daily Living or Improved Health and Wellbeing), and provide clear invoices and reports to support your plan goals.
